(no subject)

May 24th, 2007 (03:30 pm)

I just sent this e-mail to everyone I could find an e-mail address for who belongs to the Circle of Bones WebRing, but I couldn't find one for a lot of you, and I also am looking for anyone who might want to apply to join the webring, so here it is...

May 24, 2007

Dear valued Circle of Bones WebRing member,

My goal with creating the Circle of Bones WebRing is to create a cohesive community of websites that center around common themes. I feel like I’m doing a decent job of that now, but I’d like to do even better.

The ring now has 29 sites and is still growing. As always, if you know of anyone who has a site that might fit, please tell them about the ring so they can apply to join, or e-mail me the link to their site directly so I can personally invite them to join. Read more here... )

I have a relationship question!

Ok, I have a question, since some of you probably have way more experience with this than I do. How do you keep what an ex-husband/ boyfriend did to you that really hurt you from influencing the way you relate to your new boyfriend? I'm with a guy who's absolutely amazing now... we'd been friends for over six years and just this winter it developed into a full blown awesome serious relationship... but... continued here )

Happy Holidays!

I know, it's been forever since I posted in my live journal. I haven't been on the computer nearly as much as I used to be. I'm trying to rebuild my life, with some positive results so far.

This is a poem I painstakingly but lovingly wrote for the members at Forensic Files, and I wanted to share it with you all, too. It's in honor of the beloved characters of our two favorite shows, "Bones" and "CSI". Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

"'Twas the Night Before Christmas"

'Twas the night before Christmas in Forensic Files land,
Where peeps from CSI and Bones walk happily hand in hand.

The stockings were hung in the crime labs with care,
While Hodges and Cam extracted DNA from hair.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

I'm currently not in the same unsafe domestic situation that I was in, thank God. I'm staying, temporarily, with my parents, in their basement, but at least I'm safe, and things with the divorce are progressing. I'm surviving.

I just got back from a trip to Tennessee and Georgia which was AMAZING!!! :D Things are looking up for me. If you'd like to see pics from my trip and a slideshow/video I made from it, please see Forensic Files http://s12.invisionfree.com/Forensic_Files/index.php . If you've joined, ( which is totally free and no strings attached, btw) you can see the "It's called 'Positing a Scenario" section where the "Creativity Outside the Box" forum is located. Inside there, I have a password protected forum called "Jen's Bone Vault" where I am posting stuff about my life. You'll be able to find out what's goin' on with me there. Just private message me at Forensic Files if you're interested in getting the password.

I'm loving Bones this season! I hope everyone's doing well out there in cyberspace! Thanks so much for all the encouraging messages over the past few months... they really have made a HUGE difference!

Sincerely,

Jen

Eric Millegan e-mailed me today!

I'm so amazingly excited! And no, this isn't a joke. By the way, for those who might not know, Eric plays Zach Addy on "Bones".

I e-mailed the webmaster at Eric Millegan's Official Website regarding possibly linkage to "Forensic Files", and I just received two e-mails in response, one through his website, and one from what I'd assume to be his own e-mail.

I'm clueless...

I've come to the realization that my Live Journal is boring (not the content necessarily, but... it's boring to look at.) And while I know a lot about how to do website stuff ( see Forensic Files) and graphics, I have yet to learn how to do anything with LJ. I know a lot of you are busy and stuff, but if anyone would like to help me out here, I'd be extremely grateful!!!

Oops, I missed one...

current song: my fan

I'm still on my search for the origination of these excerpts from Kathy Reichs' first three novels ( Deja Dead, Death du Jour, and Deadly Decisions) that were used in a documentary film about her which aired in 2004. I'm making a very detailed transcript of the program and plan to turn it into a PDF file that will be available to everyone.

I missed this excerpt, though, in my original post that I did yesterday ::

I need HELP! Calling all Kathy Reichs novels fans!

July 17th, 2006 (06:51 pm)
current location: home, as usual
current mood: busy
current song: new on tv

I need help! I'm working on finishing up a transcription of a documentary that was done on Kathy Reichs, which aired in April of 2004, called "Investigative Reports: Criminal Evidence." They used some excerpts of her first three books, with Kathy reading them, but didn't specify in the video which book each excerpt was from. I only own one of these books, the others I've had to check out from the library, as they're available. I just haven't had the money to buy them yet.

I need help identifying which book each excerpt is from, and I couldn't think of any better place to ask than the websites I belong to. If possible, you could also include page number(s), but that's not necessary. As far as I know, based on the ending credits of the video, these excerpts come from "Deja Dead", "Death du Jour" and "Deadly Decisions".

"A Year in the Life of Temperance Brennan" fanfic

July 16th, 2006 (11:11 am)
current location: home, as usual
current mood: artistic
current song: the diswasher running

(Author's note :: I took a few small liberties, but tried to stick to the canon of the show as much as possible. Enjoy, and feel free to comment. I did it purely out of the enjoyment of the process, and used parts of documentary film clips of Kathy Reichs as well as Reichs' fiction writing and everything that's happened with Temperance Brennan on "Bones" this past season for inspiration here. There are spoilers if you have not seen Season One yet. )

"A Year in the Life of Dr. Temperance Brennan"

Hello. My name is Temperance Brennan. My publisher asked me to respond to some questions for "The Boneyard Times", an online community publication. But then I sent her my answers and she returned them. Apparently, my answers were too brief. She asked me to just type something up about myself and about the past year or so of my life. So this is what I came up with. I hope it interests you, the readers of "The Boneyard Times".
